Thanks for stopping by the About page! My name is Bryan and I run the site here at beardguide.com.
For the longest time, maintaining a beard just didn’t seem like something people really did. I mean really did. Sure, people trimmed them and went to the barber’s and all that, but I was under the impression that very few people actually took the time to maintain their facial hair (stupid, I know, but honestly, what bare-faced chap thinks about this?).
That was, of course, until I decided to grow a beard awhile back. I’d get an urge to grow one, it’d look great for a little while, between the ‘too short’ and ‘too long’ phase, and then I’d just shave it off. It was sort of a cyclical beard, where I just figured the best way of maintaining it was to shave when I stopped liking it and then start fresh.
What a hassle.
Recently I had my barber trim my beard, rather than telling him ‘not to worry about it, because I’ll be shaving it when I get home’ like I usually do. I thought I’d give it a shot and was immediately sold on the idea of trimming my beard.
It was actually possible to keep it the length that I preferred! Not to mention that the length could stay the same while the beard itself filled out a bit (I have not been naturally blessed with an effortless great big bushy beard, unfortunately).
I’ve tried a few things to keep my beard neat and trimmed, but I’ve started to look more seriously at the best options for beard trimmers.
The old clippers sitting around my house and family members’ houses just aren’t really cutting it (I can’t decide if that pun was intended). So, I’ve started compiling information to find the the most effective options available today.
Basically, I’m not an expert – yet. But, I’ve spent hours going over the data, the owner’s manuals, the reviews, and everything else related to a ton of different clippers, and think I can break them down pretty well. There are a lot of good ones out there, and the best one for you will likely depend on your personal preferences and style of beard.
I’ve taken the information I’ve gathered and created what I call the Top Clipper Comparison Guide – an interactive list of the top beard trimmers that I hope will help you on your way to discovering the best way to maintain your manly facial hair.
My goal with this site is to give you the information you need in a solid and accessible format so you can make the best decision when it comes to buying a tool that will keep your whiskers the right length. I’ll be providing my own opinions and input along the way (based on research, unlike many of these other so-called guides), but when it comes down to it, you might be more concerned with price than the number of guide combs, type of motor, or number of accessories.
Basically, I hope my journey to find the best beard trimmer here at Beard Guide for myself will end up helping you find the right tool for the job based on your personal needs and preferences.
